Sealed Bids on Cool Items at the ReStore!
Cool stuff will be auctioned off every week or two at our ReStore -- thanks to "Easel Aid," which is donating the proceeds to Habitat Pinellas! Featured items range from this tribute to "TRIPLE CROWN CHAMP SECRETARIAT" to sports heroes and comic book art -- creatively framed with engraved brass plates and intricate mat cuts. Look for the latest Easel Aid item as you enter the ReStore and try your luck on a sealed bid. Remember proceeds help Habitat for Humanity build homes for families in our area!
Earth Day is every day at the ReStore!
As over a billion people in 190 countries across the globe take action on Earth Day, April 22nd, remember your donations to the Habitat ReStore are a GREEN way to help your community and support the Habitat mission!
Our Habitat ReStore accepts new and gently used construction items, home improvement products and furniture that is in good, working condition. Click here for the complete list of items we accept.
From a recycling standpoint, our ReStore keeps over 250 tons of materials out of the Pinellas County landfill every year. And the recycling continues: the donor feels good about going “green,” the buyer feels good about getting a bargain, and Habitat and our local homeowner candidates benefit directly from the proceeds!
Be sure to "Like" us on Facebook to be the first to know when we get in cool stuff, big shipments and more!

Great story on our ReStore in Tampa Bay Times!
We made the cover of the "St. Pete Times" neighborhood section of the Sunday, September 22nd edition! Check out this wonderful article by Tampa Bay Times writer Patti Ewald:
For 7th Straight year, Habitat Pinellas earns Charity Navigator's 4-star rating!
This means you can trust that we are being responsible with your donations.
In his notification letter, Charity Navigator President/CEO Ken Berger writes: "Receiving four out of a possible four stars indicates that your organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way. Only 2 percent of the charities we rate have received at least 7 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County outperforms most other charities in America. This "exceptional" designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."
We invite you to review the Habitat Pinellas Charity Navigator rating! Thanks for your continuing support!
Volunteers help out in our ReStore during Nielsen's "Global Impact Day"
On June 13th, a large group of Nielsen staff descended on our build sites and helped out in our ReStore during their company's annual "Global Impact Day."
Across the world, thousands of Nielsen associates volunteered to help make a difference in local communities, in parks, food shelters, schools, and more. Of roughly 50,000 Nielsen employees worldwide, over 20,000 spent the day volunteering to make an impact in the communities where they live and work.
At Habitat Pinellas, we were especially grateful for the nine Nielsen staffers who were a tremendous help in our ReStore. While our build sites frequently benefit from invaluable support from many corporate volunteer groups, our ReStore rarely receives group support. ReStore Manager Doug DuPont was especially enjoying the extra help and had no trouble putting the team to work!
Many thanks to our friends at Nielsen for spending their Global Impact Day helping Habitat Pinellas!

CARS FOR HOMES! Donate an old car to Habitat and help build a house!
Got an old car? Whether is still works or is a junker, donating it to Habitat for Humanity can help build homes in our area and throughout the world.
See how easy it is. Check out this brief 90-second video by Steve Thomas, Emmy-award winning former co-host of PBS-s "This Old House" and "Renovation Nation."

Cars for Homes is Habitat's national vehicle donation program, an easy and efficient way for Habitat donors to support their local affiliate and Habitat's mission around the world.
Happy Earth Day! Go "green" by donating to the ReStore!
In honor of Earth Day -- and really, isn't Earth Day every day?! -- don't send reusable household items to the Pinellas County landfill. Instead, recycle them by donating them to the ReStore! We accept donations of gently used and some new construction materials, home improvement prodcuts and furniture. (Click for list of items we accept!)
And because ALL proceeds from ReStore sales benefit Habitat Pinellas, when you shop or donate you will be helping to build homes for families in our community. Buyers save money, donors get tax deductions while "going green" and it all works to help Habitat build more homes for low-income families in Pinellas County!
Our ReStore Commercial Wins Bright House Award
We recently were notified that our 30-second television commercial/public service announcement for the Habitat Pinellas ReStore was the Bright House Media Strategies production award winner for 2012 "Best Retail Store" ad. The ad was broadcast for a limited run from November, 2012, to mid February, 2013, throughout Pinellas County on several Bright House Network cable channels including Bay News 9, CNN, FOX News Channel, HGTV and DIY. In addition to the commercials, Bright House matched the paid spots with complimentary PSAs.
Many thanks to our friends at Bright House Network, senior consultant Christine Hall and producer Mike Featherstone, who helped craft what we think is a creative and fun video! Be sure to check it out on the link below.
We are very excited about getting the word out about our ReStore! We hope this promotion increases donations, sales and general awareness of the store and its role in funding the Habitat program.
